Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and consistent service of factory equipment through preventative and reactive maintenance
• Perform inspections and maintenance on sprockets, chains, bearings, motors, and gear boxes
• Execute corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance tasks to ensure production targets are met
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime
• Disassemble machinery for repair and calibrate equipment to optimal specifications
• Follow strict safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures and the use of required PPE
• Maintain accurate records and respond to work orders while ensuring compliance with food safety standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)
• Basic computer skills and ability to use diagnostic hardware
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment with exposure to cold temperatures and loud noise

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of food manufacturing maintenance experience
• Associate degree or Technical Certification in a related field
• Experience with TPM, RCM, or PLC Programming
• Skills in Sanitary Welding, Machine Shop operations, Electrical Construction, or Ammonia Refrigeration
