About the role

Responsibilities

  • Execute routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility processes and equipment
  • Support Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) processes by following safe operating practices and regulations
  • Ensure all mechanical work is completed in a timely manner according to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards
  • Document technical findings and close work requests accurately within maintenance systems
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to solve manufacturing process issues and maintain supply continuity
  • Operate powered industrial trucks, including forklifts, platform lifts, and utility vehicles

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Mechanical experience in oil and gas, petrochemical industries, or a related field
  • Proficiency with pumps, rotating equipment, compressors, valves, and piping
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow charts, and technical drawings
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various outdoor weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and a TWIC card (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Flexibility to work on call, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or trade school coursework focused on mechanical work
  • Certification or licensure in welding, pump and valve repair, or industrial maintenance
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or SAP
  • HAZWOPER certification
  • Familiarity with reliability improvement efforts such as Lean Sigma
