Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance mechanic assignments on plant equipment and facilities
• Collect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projects
• Perform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, alignment of equipment, and inspection and repair of power transmission
• Perform welding and cutting assignments including fabrication and repair of process equipment
• Inspect lubrication, record data, and manage oil and filter changes
• Perform pipefitter assignments to install and maintain piping structures
• Operate mobile equipment to assist with maintenance duties
• Perform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilities
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA safety rules and regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior mechanical or welding experience, training, or certification
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and safety instructions in English
• Good mathematical skills including fractions and unit conversions
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, and noisy outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior plant maintenance mechanic experience
• Bi-lingual skills
