Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and facilities
• Execute millwright assignments including bearing replacement, equipment alignment, and power transmission repair
• Conduct welding and cutting tasks for the fabrication and repair of plant structures and process equipment
• Manage lubrication tasks, including inspecting equipment, recording data, and changing oil and filters
• Perform pipefitting assignments to install, maintain, and inspect various piping systems
• Conduct plumbing inspections and repairs on plant equipment and facilities
• Operate mobile equipment to assist with assigned maintenance duties
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA safety rules and regulations at all times

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior mechanical or welding experience, training, or certification
• Strong mathematical skills, including fractions and unit conversions (metric and decimal)
• Proficiency in English to read and understand technical manuals, reports, and safety instructions
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to extreme heat, cold, and noise

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a plant maintenance mechanic
• Bi-lingual skills
