Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and rebuild industrial equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks, including arc/gas welding, pipefitting, and millwright work
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and replace components like bearings and power transmission systems
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations and wear required PPE
• Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and audits accurately
• Respond to emergency repairs and participate in major overhaul outages as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 to 6 years of industrial maintenance, mechanical, or welding experience
• MSHA certification (or ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe)
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety documentation
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs occasionally) and work in various environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade certification
• Journeyman credentials
• Military experience
• Bilingual skills (Spanish)
