About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on equipment by diagnosing faults and making actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations
- Maintain and assist in keeping maintenance and calibration records and replacement parts for mechanical equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment according to instructions and schedules
- Replace unit components such as control relays, protective relays, thermostats, fan and blower motors, fuses, and EAC compressors
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Follow site safety rules, including EHS training documents and job-specific standard work
- Report chemical spills and environmental concerns to appropriate personnel
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in industrial or military maintenance with a trade school certificate OR 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet above grade
- Ability to lift items up to 50lbs
- Ability to read, write, and pass the Carrier Maintenance Qualification test
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with safety programs such as lockout-tagout, electrical safety, and PPE inspections
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
