About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical systems including hydraulic, steam, and chemical piping systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Determine root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct precision maintenance tasks such as alignment checks, mechanical clearance measurements, and rotating equipment balancing.
- Perform motor and plant lubrication tasks according to established guidelines and intervals.
- Utilize technical documentation, including blueprints, manuals, and schematics, to aid in repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's computerized maintenance management system (SAP).
- Comply with all OSHA, state, and local safety codes and participate in plant safety programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a first-class capacity.
- Completion of a formal maintenance or technology program.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Basic electrical knowledge (experience with AC/DC voltage preferred).
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for sustained periods.
- Ability to work in various environments, including potentially loud or odorous settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification in welding, pipefitting, machining, rigging, or lubrication.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/SAP).
- Knowledge of conveyors, centrifugal pumps, pneumatic systems, or boiler/steam systems.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Food Safety standards.
