Maintenance Engineer (Multiskilled)

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on all site and plant equipment to ensure malt production levels are met.
• Perform electrical testing, fault finding, and basic mechanical repairs.
• Contribute to efficiency improvements and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Complete maintenance paperwork and computer entries in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant.
• Ensure full compliance with electrical engineering regulations, ATEX, Health & Safety, and Food Safety regulations.
• Provide call-out cover for out-of-hours breakdowns.

Requirements

• Recognised Apprenticeship/Engineering qualification, BTEC, HNC, or equivalent.
• C&G 2360 part 2 or BTEC, HNC, NVQ equivalent with an industrial electrical bias.
• Demonstrable ability in mechanical testing, fault finding, installation, and inspection (PUWER).
• Knowledge of Motors, Inverter Drives, and Soft Start systems.
• Proficiency in using computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving license.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and quality awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within Maltings with knowledge of DSEAR regulations.
• Experience with Material Handling Systems (Bucket Elevators, Belt Conveyors, Screws, Diverters, etc.).
• Familiarity with PLC systems.
• BS761 Electrical Installations Course (latest edition).
• Experience with lifting equipment (LOLER).
• Demonstrable ability in Turning and Milling.
