About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality proactive and reactive maintenance to support manufacturing operations
  • Perform repairs, installations, and inspections on production equipment and key systems including dust extraction, compressed air, and electrical installations
  • Investigate process improvements and provide in-house modifications to enhance safety, quality, and reliability
  • Utilize lean techniques and root cause analysis to solve problems and implement corrective countermeasures
  • Manage contractors performing maintenance tasks, including conducting site inductions
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental management systems, including updating risk assessments and PUWER assessments

Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Electromechanical engineering or a similar subject (e.g., City & Guilds)
  • Demonstrable experience in both reactive and proactive maintenance
  • Proven experience in process improvement
  • Strong knowledge of 3-phase equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Proficiency with business tools, electronic systems, and IT packages
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional interpersonal abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wiring Regulations City & Guilds 2382 (latest edition) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with equipment installation and PUWER regulations
  • Knowledge of LOLER and work at height regulations
  • Understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives
