About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on site and plant equipment to ensure malt production levels are met
- Conduct mechanical testing, fault finding, installation, and inspection
- Carry out mechanical repairs including bearing replacement, gearboxes, and other drives
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Complete maintenance paperwork and computer entries in line with company procedures
- Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant
- Provide call-out cover for out-of-hours breakdowns
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, Food Safety Regulations, Health & Safety, and Environmental procedures
Requirements
- Recognised Engineering qualification, Apprenticeship, BTEC, HNC, or equivalent
- Demonstrable ability in mechanical testing, fault finding, and installation
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication
- Experience using computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving license
- Strong problem-solving abilities and quality awareness
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within Maltings with knowledge of DSEAR regulations
- Experience with Material Handling Systems (bucket elevators, belt conveyors, screws, etc.)
- Ability in turning and milling
- Experience with lifting equipment (LOLER)
