Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on configuration, maintenance, and support for audio, video, and film studio production equipment.
• Assist studio supervisors with equipment installation, setup, and maintenance to ensure technical signal quality standards.
• Conduct troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on studio equipment, including VTRs and signal routing hardware.
• Manage audio and video equipment setup, including gain structure, processing, and leveling.
• Document regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and identify causes of equipment or system failures.
• Perform first-tier VTR maintenance, including alignment, board exchange, and coordinating with outsourced vendors.
• Execute network configuration for AV devices and manage AV-related IP/networking concepts.
• Communicate with third-party vendors and program providers to resolve technical issues and specify necessary repair parts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Communications, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in audiovisual maintenance, broadcast engineering, or studio technical operations.
• Proven experience with video playback devices, VTRs, and signal routing equipment.
• Strong ability to perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on specialized studio hardware.
• Knowledge of AV network configuration and basic IP/networking concepts.
• Ability to manage equipment movement and physical rack installations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant technical certifications in broadcast engineering, audiovisual systems, or electronics repair.
• Experience working in a broadcaster, post-production facility, or media production studio.
• Familiarity with IT room hardware and computer hardware used in production environments.
