Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and building systems
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and inspections
• Collaborate with other teams to identify maintenance needs and improve efficiency
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency support
• Assist with the installation, modification, or commissioning of new systems and equipment
• Monitor equipment and building performance to prevent downtime

Requirements

• Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering
• Broad knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience within a lab environment and high-end finish buildings
• Ability to participate in an on-call rota with a one-hour response time
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements
