Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve the SHIRE Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accurate asset and inspection records.
• Oversee maintenance contracts for equipment such as air compressors, deionised water plants, and effluent plants.
• Perform fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and minor repairs on process plants, pumps, pipework, and instrumentation.
• Act as Site Permit Controller, reviewing RAMS and issuing permits for maintenance, isolation, confined space entry, and working at height.
• Manage and monitor the site effluent treatment facility to ensure compliance with consent limits.
• Lead or support capital and site improvement projects, including installation and commissioning.
• Investigate equipment failures using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement preventative actions.
• Supervise on-site contractors via Permit to Work procedures.

Requirements

• HND/NVQ equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience working in a safety-driven environment.
• Experience utilizing a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Experience in liquid process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of key regulations including COMAH, PUWER, LOLER, Electricity at Work, and Confined Space Working.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background working within the chemical industry on a COMAH facility.
