About the role

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on process, packaging, and utility equipment to minimize downtime
  • Use prints, schematics, and panel drawings to isolate electrical faults and trace circuits
  • Diagnose VFD faults by interpreting codes and verifying wiring/connections
  • Inspect and verify operation of field devices such as sensors, proximity switches, and limit switches
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and peak performance
  • Maintain accurate CMMS records for all maintenance activities and equipment repairs
  • Collaborate with Automation Technicians to resolve complex PLC programming or configuration issues
  • Ensure all equipment safeguards meet company, state, and federal regulations

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Automated Systems, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; OR 3 years of applicable work experience
  • Knowledge of PLC and DCS systems, Power Distribution, and Motors & Drives
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, prints, and control panel wiring diagrams
  • Experience with VFDs, motors, and motor-control components
  • Ability to use test equipment including multimeters and ampmeters
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in all areas of the plant
  • Ability to provide own tools and a personal toolbox

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drawing basic line-to-line diagrams
  • Functional knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical code standards
  • Working knowledge of various packaging, process, and utility equipment systems
