About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the truck and trailer parts department
- Manage inventory including forecasting, purchasing, stocking, and cycle counts
- Source parts from approved suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery timelines
- Build and maintain relationships with dealerships and vendors
- Reconcile parts invoices for the Accounts department
- Collaborate with Mechanics and Shop Supervisors to prioritize parts for repairs
- Monitor inventory usage, costs, and purchasing trends
- Ensure accurate entry of maintenance records into the management system
- Assist in planning preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet uptime
- Supervise the organization and cleanliness of the parts room
- Train and mentor Parts Coordinators or Clerks
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in a Parts Coordinator, Supervisor, or Manager role within trucking, transportation, or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts
- Experience with inventory management and vendor relations
- Proficiency with MS Office and fleet maintenance software
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends if required
