Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Attend to all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) repairs for hotel facilities, including building structures, fixtures, and plant equipment.
• Complete weekly maintenance schedules and carry out regular inspections of the building and equipment via daily checklists.
• Assist with the preventative maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure peak efficiency and safety.
• Perform repairs and maintenance for staff accommodation as required.
• Monitor inventory in stores, maintain accurate records of stocks and equipment, and ensure tools are kept clean and safe.
• Support the maintenance supervisor with contractor management, including material delivery and oversight of repairs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
• Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including air conditioning and ventilation.
• Understanding of fire protection systems and Health and Safety regulations.
• Working knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance principles.
• Excellent English communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to keep accurate records and prepare maintenance reports.
• Knowledge of swimming pool maintenance is an advantage.
