Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform routine plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities
• Clean snow from sidewalks and parking lots using snowplow, snow blower, and/or shovel
• Clean floors and carpets including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and waxing
• Dust and polish metal work, furniture, statues, and light fixtures
• Maintain and clean restrooms and kitchens in a sanitary manner
• Remove garbage and trash from buildings and grounds
• Set up and remove tables for meetings and move heavy furniture
• Mow lawn, trim shrubbery, and cultivate flowers using hand tools and lawn equipment
• Conduct regular rounds of buildings and grounds to inspect doors, windows, and locks
• Assist in overall security efforts and report safety hazards
• Participate in meetings and in-service training programs
• Remain available for on-call emergency response during evenings and weekends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks including moving heavy furniture and loading supplies

Preferred Qualifications

• One to three years of general maintenance experience
• Experience with painting, light electrical work, and plumbing repair
