Mainframe Systems Programmer (IMS)

Responsibilities

• Build, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to ensure reliability, performance, and availability.
• Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages.
• Develop and implement automated tasks and processes using software scripting and coding to improve efficiency.
• Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks and unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to define requirements and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
• Maintain and optimize IMS environments to ensure the stability and resilience of critical mainframe systems.

Requirements

• Ample knowledge of IMS DB/DC, z/OS, JCL, system utilities, and mainframe infrastructure.
• Proven ability to diagnose multi-faceted production issues and perform effective root-cause analysis.
• Experience implementing changes safely while maintaining system stability and operational resilience in high-availability environments.
• Strong technical expertise in mainframe systems programming and infrastructure management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Assembler with experience supporting user exits.
• Ability to improve efficiency through scripting, job automation, and process optimization.
• Understanding of IMS Catalog and IMS Managed ACB concepts.
