About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and analyze the impact of changes to mainframe payroll and pension systems
- Review business and technical requirements to provide architectural suggestions and technical guidance
- Support the development of the long-term Pension Payroll System (PMS) replacement project
- Perform production troubleshooting and support for payroll and pension payroll activities
- Participate in on-call rotations for overnight and weekend processes
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong experience with COBOL and mainframe programming
- Experience with relational databases
- Understanding of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior mainframe programmer experience (COBOL, IMS/D82)
- Experience with JCUPROCS/CTLCARDS
- Proficiency with RMDS, EXPEDITER, and File-Aid for IMS/D82
- Experience designing architecture for mainframe applications and dependencies
- Experience with large-scale enterprise implementations
