About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and analyze the impact of changes to mainframe payroll and pension systems
  • Review business and technical requirements to provide architectural suggestions and technical guidance
  • Support the development of the long-term Pension Payroll System (PMS) replacement project
  • Perform production troubleshooting and support for payroll and pension payroll activities
  • Participate in on-call rotations for overnight and weekend processes

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong experience with COBOL and mainframe programming
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Understanding of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Senior mainframe programmer experience (COBOL, IMS/D82)
  • Experience with JCUPROCS/CTLCARDS
  • Proficiency with RMDS, EXPEDITER, and File-Aid for IMS/D82
  • Experience designing architecture for mainframe applications and dependencies
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise implementations
