Mainframe Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams and manage complex mainframe infrastructure projects
• Build and sustain enterprise mainframe platforms
• Manage mainframe system programming and application development
• Oversee installation and support of IBM operating systems and ISV software
• Implement ITSM and ITIL practices, including Release and Change Management
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to influence strategic direction

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 6–10 years of relevant infrastructure or systems engineering experience
• Direct, hands-on mainframe experience is required
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of diverse IT experience, particularly in financial services
• Proficiency with z/OS, PARMLIB, UNIX System Services, and HCD
• Experience with SMP/E and maintenance routines
• Expertise in JCL, IPL processes, and ISPF/TSO
• Strong understanding of ITSM / ITIL practices
