Mainframe Application Developer

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support mainframe-based applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
• Perform production support, including pre and post-production release activities and SLA-driven issue resolution
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and designs
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and code debugging
• Support document composition using Exstream Dialogue, including rules, functions, and workflows
• Create and execute complex test plans

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in mainframe development and support
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and IMS
• Proficiency with DB2 Stored Procedures, SORT, SPUFI, QMF, and MQ Series
• Experience with ADE Workbench and SCLM for code management
• Proficiency in mainframe data manipulation tools like INSYNC and IBM Load Utilities
• Experience using Exstream Dialogue tool
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for incident and change management
• Ability to work in shift timings (2 PM – 8 PM IST)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with offering systems and rules maintenance systems
• Knowledge of AFP/PDF output creation and desktop publishing
• Basic understanding of the insurance domain
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• Ability to train end-users or team members on application functionalities
