Main Evening Anchor

Responsibilities

• Use editorial judgment to help determine the content of newscasts
• Work with producers and the newsroom team to create unique, fast-paced, and innovative newscasts
• Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for on-air, mobile, and social platforms
• Use social media and social listening to identify big stories and develop original content
• Write and post daily content across all digital platforms, including the web
• Interview news subjects and conduct research to ensure facts and credibility
• Deliver on-air news events in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner
• Act as a newsroom leader and community liaison to develop unique, compelling stories

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of news anchor or reporting experience
• Strong on-camera communication and presentation skills
• Ability to write, shoot, and edit news stories for television and digital platforms
• Proven ability to enterprise news stories and conduct impactful accountability reporting
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news-gathering vehicle
• Proficiency with latest editing and photography tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Journalism or Communication degree
