About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other production equipment to perform high-precision machining operations.
  • Work from drawings, process sheets, sketches, and specifications to layout sequences of operations and perform setups.
  • Perform close tolerance machining tasks including forming, boring, turning, facing, drilling, tapping, and honing.
  • Determine appropriate speeds and feeds, and grind or sharpen own tooling as required.
  • Select proper chucks, fixtures, collets, and steady rests to secure workpieces.
  • Conduct routine service and maintenance on equipment and submit final inspection reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following all company safety directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least two years of shop training or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience operating manual mills or lathes.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools including gauges, micrometers, and Vernier scales.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to visualize finished products and recognize/report errors in blueprints.
  • Willingness to work extra hours and weekends as required to meet customer deadlines.
