Machinist Operator

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
• Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines
• Machine parts to provided blueprint specifications using lathes, milling machines, or grinders
• Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace following all health and safety regulations

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours and lift/push/pull equipment up to 50-200 pounds as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience manufacturing cold heading tooling
