Machinist

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and/or CNC machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify components according to specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and shop travelers
• Set up and secure workpieces, tooling, and fixtures safely and correctly
• Inspect finished work using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
• Perform mathematical and geometric calculations required for machining activities
• Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on assigned equipment
• Assist with rigging, lifting, and movement of large components using shop support equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Mathematical and geometric calculation skills
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
• Experience operating manual and/or CNC machine tools
• Technical training, vocational education, apprenticeship, or machining certification
• Experience with overhead cranes, rigging, and material handling equipment
• Basic computer skills
