Machinist III

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision parts according to drawings and instructions
• Operate manual mill and lathe machines
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to ensure specified dimensions are met
• Set up machines correctly and select appropriate tooling for each job
• Make machine offsets and edits without supervision
• Meet daily and weekly production quotas while maintaining high workmanship standards
• Mentor and assist lower-level CNC machinists and operators
• Contribute to R&D design reviews and study blueprints for production
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming and operating CNC and manual machines
• Formal training in CNC programming and operation or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
• Strong mathematical skills, specifically in geometry and trigonometry
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow complex, detailed instructions
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
