Machinist III

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, and drill presses, to manufacture components according to specifications
• Read and interpret complex drawings, sketches, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
• Inspect and measure completed projects using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and Verniers to ensure conformance
• Perform all Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions and maintain required documentation
• Conduct self-quality audits, including first-piece inspections and subsequent work inspections
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain up-to-date TPM boards
• Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) regulations and policies
• Engage in Continuous Improvement activities and maintain a neat, organized work area

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year of relevant machining experience (or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a diploma/GED)
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
• Hands-on experience operating machine shop equipment
• Ability to use precision measurement tools
• Must be a U.S. citizen to access required program information

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with MP 9001 Quality Policy Manual
• Advanced knowledge of Shop Math and Metrology
• Working knowledge of machine control languages
