Machinist III

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup and runs on surface grinders and mills
• Read, interpret, and process prints, engineering standards, and work instructions
• Monitor tooling for wear and change tools as needed
• Monitor part-specific dimensional tolerances and identify non-conforming features
• Maintain accurate documentation including shop travelers, labor charging, and production tracking
• Identify and report process inefficiencies and machine issues
• Follow work priorities to meet production goals
• Work 2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience
• Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn job-specific applications
• Experience with measurement equipment such as gauges and calipers
• Experience with basic hand tools
• Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and grinders
• Experience maintaining tight tolerances (< 0.0005”)
