Machinist II, 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines and machining centers, including mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers, to fabricate parts
• Verify conformance of processes and workpieces to specifications using precision measurement tools like micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories
• Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as required
• Fit and assemble parts into complete units using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as required for TPM
• Conduct tests and inspections to ensure product conformance
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience and/or training
• Proficiency in shop mathematics, including the ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, proportions, and decimals across all units of measure
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, diagrams, and technical manuals
• Experience using precision measurement tools
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet production deadlines
• Good verbal and written communication skills
