Machinist - ID/OD Grinding

Responsibilities

• Operate cylindrical grinding CNC machines to produce miscellaneous rotary products according to customer specifications
• Compute numbers, widths, and angles of tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges to adjust tools accurately
• Select, mount, and dress grinding wheels
• Adjust machine feed, speed, and controls to correct faulty automatic programming or machine malfunctions
• Use precision measuring instruments and hand tools to verify that finished work pieces meet specifications
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and maintain a clean work area
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of proper PPE

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous CNC machining experience in cylindrical grinding or a related field, or a trade school diploma
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers
• Strong shop math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs on occasion
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours) and work overtime as required
