About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and mills to support machining and manufacturing process operations
  • Load and tend runs of parts or perform one-step operations on individual parts
  • Position and secure tools in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, and fixtures
  • Read blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions to ensure compliance with dimensions and tolerances
  • Verify conformance of machined workpieces using calipers, micrometers, and other gages
  • Perform pressure testing on parts according to drawings or work procedures
  • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as required
  • Maintain housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of direct CNC experience (or formal CNC training from an accredited program combined with 1+ years of post-training experience)
  • Proven experience reading blueprints
  • Ability to run CNC equipment in a cell, including changing jaws, changing tools/touching off, and loading programs
  • Ability to perform first-piece runs and make adjustments based on quality inspection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with multi-axis CNC equipment
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Proficient reading, writing, and computation skills
