About the role

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders.
  • Use HAAS, MAZAK, and other name-brand equipment to machine plastic or metal workpieces to exacting tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, design sketches, and Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) specifications.
  • Perform machine setups to ensure proper fitting and alignment of machined parts.
  • Conduct inspections on first pieces and work-in-progress using various measuring devices to ensure quality.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for production.
  • Identify and report blueprint errors and adjust machine controls to resolve production errors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience.
  • Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.
  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to operate various machine tools.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift, with flexibility to train on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks as needed.
