Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, design sketches, and specifications to ensure accurate part dimensions.
• Perform machine setups to achieve close tolerances and proper alignment of machined parts.
• Conduct inspections on first pieces and work-in-progress using various measuring devices to ensure quality.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials for specific machining tasks.
• Utilize Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) as required by prints.
• Monitor production to identify defects and adjust machine controls to resolve errors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to operate various machine tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including initial training on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks.
