Responsibilities

• Perform conventional and CNC machining, including milling, lathe turning, cutting, and grinding to fabricate mechanical parts.
• Modify COTS components, connectors, and materials to .001” precision using machine shop tools and dies.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, or Computer Aided Design (CAD) files to execute fabrication tasks.
• Provide technical input to mechanical engineers regarding design, prototyping, development, and assembly.
• Craft precision tools used to cut, shape, and form metal and other materials.
• Monitor own work to ensure superior quality, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures and company safety policies.
• Interface effectively with cross-functional groups including design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, OR an associate’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC and hand milling machines, lathes, and other shop tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD files.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience inspecting parts using micrometers, calipers, and CMM Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Ability to interpret mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings designed to ASME 14.5M-1994 standards.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.
