Machinist

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools using various machining equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and jig bores
• Perform routine and semi-routine assignment planning, layout, setup, and operation of CNC and computerized machine shop equipment
• Work from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to cut and shape metal to precision dimensions
• Use mathematical and geometrical calculations to ensure parts meet specified tolerances
• Identify and perform minor repairs on machine malfunctions
• Prove out CNC programs when required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following general housekeeping practices

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 2-3 years of machining experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
• Strong mathematical and geometrical calculation skills
