Machinist

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble prototype parts and equipment based on provided designs and ideas
• Set up and operate various machines including CNC Lathes, 3 and 5-axis CNC Mills, Wire EDM, Surface Grinders, and manual lathes/mills
• Write or edit machine programs to ensure parts meet design specifications and quality standards
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect finished parts for accuracy
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Troubleshoot machining process issues and perform routine equipment maintenance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of applicable machine shop experience (or military equivalent), OR a 2-year Machine Tool Technology degree, OR a relevant Certificate with at least 1 year of experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Availability to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, or NC programming software
• Experience with 5-axis machining
