Machinist

Responsibilities

• Safely program, set up, and operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously with minimal assistance
• Machine or modify parts using 3-axis machining centers, waterjet, Trak mill and lathe, and surface grinders
• Read and adhere to all verbal and written processes, drawings, and solid models
• Inspect products using visual and hand inspection equipment including microscopes, calipers, and micrometers
• Inspect, change, and make offsets to cutting tooling in CNC equipment
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean workspace using 5S principles

Requirements

• Formal trades or apprenticeship program completion
• Higher level trade school certification or degree
• 5 years of experience in the CNC machine trade
• Experience programming with CAD and basic knowledge of G-code
• Basic knowledge of welding, torches, plasma cutters, and sheet metal fabrication
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Dedication to safety in an industrial environment involving heat, noise, and high voltage

Preferred Qualifications

• Full knowledge of Mastercam
• Experience with Haas machining centers
• 4 and 5 axis machining experience
• Waterjet or EDM (electrical discharge machine) experience
• Knowledge of calculating tolerance changes due to atmospheric temperature changes (CTE)
