Machinist

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines including mills and lathes
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models
• Program and modify CNC machines using G-code and M-code
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision tools
• Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure adherence to tolerances
• Perform basic machine maintenance and resolve routine equipment issues
• Track production data and support continuous improvement efforts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Requirements

• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or automated machining equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Solid understanding of shop math, blueprints, and layout techniques
• Proficiency in setting up tooling and editing G-code/M-code
• Familiarity with SPC methodology and lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification in machining
• Experience machining aerospace components or high-tolerance parts
• Familiarity with multi-axis CNC machines or custom fixturing
• Experience with quick-turn production cycles
