About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines including mills and lathes
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models
- Program and modify CNC machines using G-code and M-code
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and precision tools
- Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure adherence to tolerances
- Perform basic machine maintenance and resolve routine equipment issues
- Track production data and support continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Requirements
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or automated machining equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- Solid understanding of shop math, blueprints, and layout techniques
- Proficiency in setting up tooling and editing G-code/M-code
- Familiarity with SPC methodology and lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification in machining
- Experience machining aerospace components or high-tolerance parts
- Familiarity with multi-axis CNC machines or custom fixturing
- Experience with quick-turn production cycles
