Machinist B

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints and verbal instructions to lay out sequential details of standard machining operations and prototype assembly setups.
• Set up and operate various machine tools, including CNC, millers, grinders, and sheet metal equipment.
• Use machine shop measuring and gauging devices to align and machine metal or plastic parts to required specifications.
• Maintain machines in optimal operation following established maintenance schedules (TPM).
• Keep tools and work areas safe, clean, and orderly following 5S routines.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and root cause corrective actions (RCCA).
• Follow all established environmental, health, and safety policies and use required personal protection equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• High school or technical school education.
• Two years of apprenticeship training.
• 3 to 7 years of diversified machining experience.
• Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics and the ability to use handbook formulas.
