Machinist

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of various metal parts and tools
• Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
• Interpret and utilize blueprints, sketches, models, and other visual aids for production
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of parts to ensure quality and conformity to specifications
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices safely
• Maintain a safe workspace and follow all standard trade practices and safety precautions

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a skilled machinist with a completed apprenticeship, or 3 years of experience as a skilled machinist
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical sketches
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain in a standing position for extended periods
• Ability to operate manual machining equipment and heavy lifting devices
• Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
