About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC production equipment, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills, lathes, routers, and lasers
- Perform manual machining using milling machines and lathes
- Write and correct CNC programs using G-code and CAM software
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, and technical drawings
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure part accuracy
- Conduct inspections using various measuring techniques to validate conformance to specifications
- Maintain high quality standards while working with aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
- Assist in sheet metal installation, including cutting, grinding, and trimming parts to fit
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of experience in a machine or fabrication shop within aerospace or a related field (e.g., automotive, shipbuilding)
- Proficiency in CNC programming and the ability to create/correct DXF and GNH files
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documentation
- Experience with aerospace materials and precision measurement tools
- Computer proficiency, including experience with AutoCAD, EnRoute, or Gravostyle
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade School Certification in a relevant machining field
- Experience with Catia or similar advanced CAD/CAM software
