Machinist A

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate computer-controlled lathes and mills to fabricate metal parts
• Study and interpret drawings, shop manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
• Identify required tooling, set gauges, and perform machine set-up based on job requirements
• Program CNC lathes and mills based on part drawings, including complex designs
• Manufacture parts as outlined on drawings and part specifications
• Inspect parts to confirm conformance to specifications
• Perform daily and monthly maintenance tasks

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of lathe and mill experience
• Proven experience with Haas and Mazak equipment
• Strong CNC programming skills
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings/customer specifications
• Strong math skills, including geometry and trigonometry for material fabrication
• Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, and inserts
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• CNC Machine Operator Certificate
