About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support remote machinery surveillance activities, troubleshooting efforts, and root cause failure analyses
  • Provide technical oversight to remote machinery surveillance programs
  • Develop and update machinery engineering tools, guides, and specifications
  • Support machinery troubleshooting through remote assistance or on-site support, including overhauls
  • Participate in machinery risk assessments and Management of Change (MOC) engineering evaluations
  • Support the development and optimization of machinery maintenance strategies
  • Oversee the activities of engineering contractors and machinery suppliers
  • Mentor less experienced machinery engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in upstream or downstream oil and gas machinery engineering, operations, maintenance, or surveillance
  • Proven experience with centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, motors, generators, and pumps
  • Experience in machinery shutdown planning and execution activities
  • Experience with maintenance and reliability concepts and applications
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience specifically working for an upstream oil and gas company
  • General knowledge of oil and gas production operations and facilities (e.g., gas processing, compression, corrosion)
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods as required
