About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee CNC and manual machinists, including scheduling, task delegation, and workload management.
  • Supervise direct reports through performance evaluations, PTO management, and professional development.
  • Maintain and prioritize production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss Lathes, Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), turning centers, and milling centers.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for machining activities and equipment repairs.
  • Ensure all setups and machining processes adhere to strict quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) for machine tools and shop equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliverables for outside services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
  • Practical experience with CNC Swiss, VTL, CNC turning, and milling centers.
  • Experience managing a machine shop environment.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
