Machine Shop Lead

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate numerically controlled equipment for machining operations including turning, boring, facing, and threading.
• Address operational issues to maintain machine efficiency and production levels.
• Perform quality checks and assist with preventative equipment maintenance.
• Maintain accurate inventory by reporting material usage, minimizing waste, and ensuring calibration of measuring devices.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry to support job tasks.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in all work areas.
• Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and company health and safety expectations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to perform physical demands including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for more than 50% of the shift.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and environments with occasional exposure to fumes or gases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a team lead supervising machine shop operations.
• Proven ability to motivate individuals and teams to meet project expectations.
