About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of machine shop inspectors, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Maintain the machine shop inspection process to ensure strict adherence to AS9100 and aerospace standards
- Oversee daily inspection requirements and ensure the team meets production schedules
- Develop and maintain inspection documentation, including work instructions, procedures, and inspection plans
- Create and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) and first piece verification processes
- Program and maintain CMM equipment using PCDMIS software
- Facilitate MRB meetings, identify nonconforming materials, and perform root cause analysis for defects
- Implement and maintain a robust 5S program to ensure a FOD-free and safe work environment
- Act as a working supervisor by performing hands-on inspections and measurements
Requirements
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
- 5 years of technical quality inspection experience within aerospace or precision manufacturing
- Proven experience in the Aviation, Space, or Defense industry
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)
- Proficiency with CMM use and programming (PCDMIS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with ISO9001 standards
