Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Verify process output is within specified quality limits and make adjustments or communicate when outside allowable limits
• Execute, interpret, record, and respond to inspections and test results
• Isolate and reject out-of-specification materials
• Accurately record production, rejects, inventory, and work hours
• Assist in shift preparation, directing personnel, and shut-down or hand-off
• Control and maintain process equipment to accepted standards
• Participate in Toyota Production System (TPS) activities
• Move glass materials using vacuum lift assist equipment, manual lifting, and mobile carts
• Understand schedules and inventory requirements to keep production on track
• Perform preventative maintenance activities such as cleaning and inspecting
• Apply inspection procedures and tolerances to pass or reject materials and products

Requirements

• Excellent work history in a manufacturing environment
• Good math and computer interface skills
• Good communication and organization skills
• Strong interpretation and decision-making skills
• Good time management skills; able to think ahead while completing tasks at hand
• Stable personality to assist in training employees and directing co-workers
• Punctual with excellent attendance
• Be available for overtime and emergency work
