Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the cutting and seaming line
• Direct department personnel to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
• Verify process output and make necessary adjustments
• Execute, interpret, and record inspection and test results
• Isolate and reject materials out of specification
• Accurately record production, rejects, inventory, and work hours
• Assist in shift preparation, personnel direction, and end-of-shift hand-offs
• Maintain process equipment to accepted standards
• Participate in Toyota Production System (TPS) activities

Requirements

• Excellent manufacturing work history
• Good math and computer interface skills
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Strong interpretation and decision-making skills
• Good time-management skills
• Ability to train and direct co-workers with respect

Preferred Qualifications

• High school education or degree
• Experience in glass fabrication or equipment operation
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Mechanical aptitude
• Proven record of continuous improvement involvement
• Consistent and predictable work attendance
