Machine Operator I

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial machinery including saws, torches, and plasma cutters to manufacture custom components
• Use hand tools, sanders, and grinders to complete assigned tasks
• Read and interpret simple blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions
• Perform daily inspections of materials for defects and maintain proper positioning in machines
• Unload incoming steel and move materials using cranes or manual handling
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, performing regular cleaning and service of machines
• Deliver designated parts to appropriate production areas and manage parts bins

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, climbing, and crawling
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure
• Ability to understand simple blueprints
• Experience using hand tools, sanders, and grinders
• Ability to work in a noisy production environment
• Commitment to following all safety protocols and wearing required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hardhats, etc.)
• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
• Ability to become forklift certified
