Machine Operator I - Copper

Responsibilities

• Operate and tend machines including CNC copper tubing benders, T-Drill machines, and CNC automatic chop saws
• Read job specifications to determine necessary machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates
• Position workpieces accurately and activate machines via buttons or pedals
• Monitor machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions
• Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy and quality
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from finished workpieces
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-6 months of related experience and/or training
• Basic math and reading skills
• Proficiency with tape measures and hand tools
• Knowledge of copper and steel types and gauges
• Ability to operate cranes and hoists
• Understanding of 6S principles
